The Client

The Lee Company is a global titan in miniature, precision fluid control. Their flight heritage is unmatched, having supplied components for virtually every significant mission in U.S. and European history, from the Apollo 11 moon landing to the International Space Station and the Artemis missions.

| The mission

The Mission

The goal was to revolutionise how satellite manufacturers interact with The Lee Company’s massive product list. Instead of forcing customers to navigate dense technical tables, we aimed to build an interactive 3D sales catalogue. This tool helps space startups visualise where specific components sit within a thruster system, improving product education and shortening the sales cycle.

The Challenge

01 / SAME INDUSTRY STANDARD

For decades, the industry standard for component manufacturers has been the same: long, text-heavy lists and 2D technical drawings.

02 / NEEDED A NEW SOLUTION

The Lee Company wanted to remove this friction. They needed an experience that didn’t just show a part, but showed a solution.

03 / SIMPLIFYING THRUSTER BUILDS

They needed an accessible “guide” that simplified thruster builds to their core systems, making the Lee Company products the clear stars of the show.

For decades, the industry standard for component manufacturers has been the same: long, text-heavy lists and 2D technical drawings. While functionally accurate, these catalogues don’t “speak” to anyone. They leave the heavy lifting to the buyer, who must cross-reference part numbers with system requirements across various sectors like defence, aerospace, and medical.

The Lee Company wanted to remove this friction. They needed an experience that didn’t just show a part, but showed a solution. Because they also produce bespoke components, they didn’t want the user to get bogged down in hyper-complex schematics. They needed an accessible “guide” that simplified thruster builds to their core systems, making the Lee Company products the clear stars of the show.

| Our Approach

The Solution

We researched & modelled the propulsion systems from the ground up. This allowed The Lee Company to stay focused on their messaging while we handled the technical “stage” their products would sit on.

Interactive

The solution is a CubeSat in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) that serves as a visual filter. Users can toggle between four different propulsion types, instantly seeing how the internal architecture changes. Instead of a wall of specifications, users see a two-sentence summary of why a component is critical to that specific build. One click then takes them directly to the technical sales funnel on the website.

By allowing users to “drill down” from the propulsion type to the specific component, the interactive experience proves that The Lee Company understands the builder’s journey.

Beyond the visual experience, we integrated tracking to collect valuable data on the user journey. By monitoring which propulsion builds are the most popular, The Lee Company can identify emerging market demands in real-time. This allows their marketing team to tailor future campaigns toward the specific audiences with the highest probability of conversion.

Additionally, the marketing team now uses screen recordings of the tool to create social media content, effectively turning the interactive catalogue into a secondary video production studio.

“To have the real-time interaction with our products has been fantastic. It's a great balance between technical knowledge and a demonstration of how the products fit into an overall satellite propulsion system.”
